Penguin Fire Protection Ltd (“we”, “us”), company number 16014416, registered in England and Wales, is responsible for the personal information described in this policy (the “controller” under data protection law). You can contact us at North View, North Townside Road, North Frodingham, YO25 8LB, by email at info@penguinfireprotection.co.uk or by phone on 07840 334541.
When you use our quote form, we collect your name, how you would like us to contact you, your phone number and/or email address, the service you need, the type of premises, the site postcode and anything you tell us in the message box. If you ask about fire extinguishers, we also collect what you need and, if you tell us, how many extinguishers you have and what types they are.
When you phone or email us, we collect the details you give us. When we carry out work for you, we also record information about the premises and the people we deal with there, for example in fire risk assessment reports and service certificates.
The details you enter in the quote form are sent to us by email, and a copy is kept in our website’s secure admin area so no enquiry gets lost. Our website’s email system also keeps a log of the emails it sends, including a copy of each enquiry email. We use these details only to reply to your enquiry.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with organisations that help us run our business, such as our email provider and website host, with Google and Microsoft if you accept analytics or advertising cookies (see Cookies below), and where the law requires us to.
We keep enquiry details only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up. If you become a customer, we keep records of the work we carry out for as long as they are needed for your fire safety records and to meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations.
You have the right to ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it, delete it or restrict how we use it. You can also object to us using it where we rely on legitimate interests. To make a request, email info@penguinfireprotection.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies are small files saved on your device by a website. We use them in three ways.
Cookies the site needs. We set one cookie, pfp_cookie_consent, to remember your cookie choices, so we do not ask you on every page. It lasts 6 months. The site cannot work properly without cookies like this, so we do not ask for consent to it.
Analytics cookies (only if you agree). If you choose ‘Accept all’, or turn on Analytics under ‘Choose’, we use two tools to understand how our website is used, so we can improve it:
_ga, which can last up to 2 years._clck (up to 1 year) and _clsk (1 day). Our own cookie for enquiries. If you accept analytics or advertising cookies, we also set a cookie called pfp_src for 30 days. It records how you reached our site (for example a Google search or one of our adverts) and the first page you saw. If you send us a quote request, this is included with it, so we can see which of our marketing leads to enquiries.
Google and Microsoft handle this information as described in Google’s privacy policy and the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Advertising cookies (only if you agree). We use Google Ads to advertise our services. If you choose ‘Accept all’, or turn on Advertising under ‘Choose’, Google sets cookies (such as _gcl_au) that do two things:
These cookies can last up to 90 days. Google handles this information as described in Google’s advertising policy and privacy policy. You can also manage the ads Google shows you at My Ad Center.
If you reject, no analytics or advertising cookies are stored on your device, and Microsoft Clarity is not used. Google may still receive limited information without cookies, such as the fact that a page was visited, which it cannot use to recognise you.
We rely on your consent for analytics and advertising cookies. You can change your mind at any time: change your cookie settings. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
We will update this page if the way we handle personal information changes.
We use cookies
We use essential cookies to make our website work. With your consent, we would also like to use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our site, and advertising cookies to measure how our ads perform.
