Emergency Lighting Testing & Servicing

Installation, testing and servicing of emergency lighting, so people can find their way out safely if the power fails.

Light the way out if the power fails

Emergency lighting comes on automatically if the mains power fails, lighting escape routes and exit signs so people can leave the building safely. It needs regular testing to make sure it will work when it is needed, in line with BS 5266-1:2025.

We install new emergency lighting, upgrade existing fittings and carry out routine testing. We record the results of every test, including any faulty fittings and the work needed to put them right, so you have clear records for your fire safety file.

What we do

  • New emergency lighting and exit signs
  • Upgrades to existing fittings
  • Monthly functional tests
  • Annual full-duration tests
  • Replacement batteries, lamps and fittings
  • Logbooks and certificates

How emergency lighting is tested

Every month

A short functional test to check each light comes on when the mains supply is cut.

Every year

A full-duration test, usually three hours, to check the batteries last as long as they should.

Every visit

Results are recorded in your logbook, including any faults we find and what is needed to fix them, with a certificate for your fire safety records.
